Frequently Asked Questions

The following information is in effect until further notice. 

  • The city starter and golf shop cashiers are accepting CREDIT CARDS ONLY for payment of green fees and merchandise.

Golf Shop Hours
Our hours of operation change with the seasons. Hours shown below are provided as a general guideline and may vary up to 30 minutes. Please call the golf shop at 858-452-3226 ext. 2250 for more information.

  • Summer hours are from 6 AM to 7 PM.
  • Fall: 6 AM to 6 PM 
  • Late Fall -Early Winter 6 AM to 5:30 PM   
  • Winter: 6 AM to 5 PM
  • Late Spring-Early Summer: 6 AM to 7:15 PM  <-- current hours

Practice Range Hours

Open Daily

Our practice range hours of operation change with the seasons. Hours shown below are provided as a general guideline and may vary due to seasonal maintenance events and weather. Please note that Tuesdays have limited hours of operation throughout the year.

The Practice Facility will close at 3 PM on Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays

  • Late Spring and Summer Season Hours: 6 AM to 7PM. 
  • Late Summer and Fall Season Hours: 6 AM to 6 PM. 
  • Late Fall and Winter Season Hours: 6 AM to 5 PM 
  • Late Winter and Spring Season Hours: 6 AM to 5:30 PM 

Please Note: Limited Practice Facility Hours 
Tuesday hours of operation are 6 AM to 2:00 PM.

Last bucket is sold approximately 30 minutes before closing every day.

A limited number of partial club sets for use at the practice center are available for rent. The rental fee is $15, payable inside the golf shop. Advance reservations are not offered for rental items.

Rental Information
We provide rental clubs for a large number of visiting players every day. Arrangements are made in person inside the golf shop, typically 45–90 minutes prior to your scheduled tee time on the day of play. Advanced reservations for groups under 12 players are not offered at this time. 

Rental and Range Fees

Rental services are arranged on the day of play. 

Advance reservations are not available.


GOLF CLUB OPTIONS

  • Men's standard club sets (also appropriate for juniors 5 foot 6 inches [170 cm] or taller) are available in regular flex shafts.
  • A limited number of stiff-flex shaft sets are available for golfers with higher club head speeds. Please note that irons with stiff-flex shafts will have a smaller “players” head design.
  • A limited number of senior-flex shaft sets are available for adult golfers with slower swing speeds.
  • Women's clubs (also appropriate for juniors 5 feet to 5 feet 6 inches [150-170 cm] tall) are available in a softer shaft flex for slower swing speeds and feature larger, more forgiving iron head designs.
  • Please note that we do not offer rental sets suitable for junior golfers under 5 feet 6 inches.

Cart rental fees apply to each individual cart, regardless of whether it is shared or not.

SPECTATOR RIDE-ALONGS
 A single spectator may join a golfer who has paid both green fees and cart rental fees by utilizing the remaining seat of the 2-person cart. There are no additional fees charged for a ride-along. Spectators may not rent a golf cart for their own use.

Advance Reservations
Please note that all rental services are performed on the day of play. Advance reservations for rented equipment is not available. Please conduct your rental arrangements at least 45 minutes in advance of your tee time.

Luggage Storage During Play
During play, patrons have the option to temporarily store their personal belongings, including bags and luggage, with the cart staff. It's important to note that this storage is intended for short-term use only, as no secure or overnight storage facilities are provided.

Additionally, please be aware that golf club shipping services (i.e. ShipSticks) are not currently provided as part of our amenities.

Gift Certificates for Golf
The City of San Diego, operator of the golf courses at Torrey Pines, offers gift cards redeemable for green fees via their website here.

  • Book an advance tee time directly with the City of San Diego. The city's golf operations offers an advance tee time service that will allow you to reserve a tee time over the phone up to 90 days prior. If this option works for you, please visit this website for more information.

Gift Certificates for Merchandise and Services
The Golf Shop at Torrey Pines offers gift certificates that can be used to pay for merchandise or services (for example, rental fees and golf instruction). Purchase the certificates in the golf shop or over the phone using a credit card. Call 1-800-985-4653 extension 2250. Please note that gift certificate sales over $500 in value will require a credit card authorization form.

Resort Dining and Lodging
Below are links to two hotels within walking distance of the golf courses. Both offer dining and stay-and-play options. Please note that the golf shop is unaffiliated with the resort properties located at Torrey Pines and cannot assist in booking restaurant reservations or lodging arrangements.
